Absence

If I don’t come back
You’ll know why
I was stolen away by
The brilliant kaleidoscope of the
Immortal blue
Sky
Whose clouds came down like
Graceful
Spiraling birds
To carry me
Away
If I don’t come back
You’ll know why
For my life is a
Whimsical ride
In the forest of
Twisting thoughts and vines and
Lies
There’s a rain that constantly
Pours over
Me
Forever testing my
Sanity
Tearing at the
Unwritten parts of
My very soul’s
Story
If I don’t come back
You’ll know why
For I was always struggling to
Survive
In a world of jagged
Stone
A glass girl
Tossed here and there
Yanked about by
Her long brown hair
A doll broken
By life’s everlasting
Storm
If I don’t come back
You’ll know why
But
Do not worry I
Will not
Die
I took the train to
My favorite station
The one that leads
To my secret haven
Of love and hope and
Dreams
The one within my
Mind
If I don’t come back
You’ll know why
All you must do is
Raise your eyes
For I am way up
High
In a treehouse built
Of my
Thoughts
