Love

I don’t want to
Fall in love
Stay away you
Bothersome dove
Circling my soul
Like a greedy vulture
You are a
Vicious creature
For it is my
Heart your
Sharp claws and beady
Pitch black eyes are
After
I don’t want to
Fall in love
It’s a sharpened knife
Shoved down my throat
Forcing upwards
My happiness and
Hope
As you observe the
Empty shell remaining
With a jagged pearl smile
And gloat
I don’t want to
Fall in love
To give and give and give
Yet never
Be enough
To have my voice
Bound tight
With
Jeweled cuffs
Only to be removed
When you want me to
Sing
Your own handpicked
Melody
I don’t want to
Fall in love
It’s never turned out
Well for me
Love is merely a
Broken fantasy
A dollar store
Dreamcatcher
Strung with false sentiment and
Memories
Delicate
Cheap feathers
That will never take
Flight
I don’t want to
Fall in love
I can’t take anymore
The dagger of “love”
Has left me sobbing
Bleeding out slowly on the
Cold and lonely
Floor
Silently screaming and
Reaching
As I watch you slip out the
Door
Locking me out
Forever
I don’t want to
Fall in love
To plummet endlessly
Constantly betrayed
Twisted black spiders
Tangling in my hair
Along the tortuous
Way
I don’t want to
Fall in love
Simply because I am
So
So
Afraid
